Wish you could go back in time and fix all the things you did wrong or avoid every painful experience? Well not only can you, you must to fix your life. Think you cannot change the events that have already happened? Well the past is subject to interpretation.

Every negative memory is holding you back from truly enjoying life. Every feeling of fear, guilt, jealousy or hate keeps you stuck in the event. Ever feel that some things just seem to repeat over and over in your life? Failed relationships, failed business ventures or just an overall feeling of being out of control…out of touch. You have not learned from the event that started this vicious cycle and thus you have it happen over and over in your life till you do. If you go back through your memories, you can pin point the exact event that triggered this emotion and shut it off as simple as switching a light switch. You will never be bothered by it again and it will never happen to you again.

Our body is an amazing work of design that would make the most elaborate feat of human engineering seem like a simple house of cards. Our mind is in total control at all times controlling your body and changing every structure of your being and your environment. We chose whether we will be sick or healthy, sad or happy, rich or poor.

Thought germs get you sick…only if you want them to. Let me explain. Ever get to a point in your life you feel so run down and like clockwork you get a cold or some small illness like a sore throat or the sniffles. Think your immune system is just run down? Actually it is a coping mechanism. Do you have fond memories of your mother taking care of you when you were sick as a child? Her tucking you in and making you chicken soup? Your body thinks it can throw out a life line when ever you get run down. You wanted a break anyhow didn’t you….well you got it. Maybe your spouse has taken the place of your mother. Maybe getting sick is a way for you to get attention. Did your mother work when you were a child? Was the only time she took the day off to be with you was when you were sick?

As soon as you realize you are doing this, you can go back through your memories and say I do not need to become sick to get out of stress or get attention. Now you have to work on why you get into stressful situations or why you need the attention to begin with.

Forgiveness is a powerful tool in bringing peace into our lives and allowing us to grow. It seems so hard to do when we seem so wronged by the event. Again this is subject to interpretation. How did this person hurt you? Was it a physical or mental pain? When you pin point what was the exact event that triggered the anguish, think to yourself, “What did I learn from this event? How did this event change my life for the better?” Using this technique will turn every painful event into a life changing one. You make the choice if these horrible people you met in your life are cretins or teachers. Once you believe they are teachers, you can not only forgive them but thank them for what they did! It is all how you interpret the event. Forgiveness lightens our load.

The one thing that becomes clear as I study these concepts is how much the responsibility falls squarely into our own laps. You cannot blame things that happen to you on others! You must learn from the event and grow. If you do not, you will re-live the event over and over in other experiences. No one knows your life better then you and you are the only person that can honestly judge your life. Most importantly…you are the only one that can change your past and future!

So are you haunted by your past…or can you reapply what you learned today to change it and begin your new future?
